Garmin,the global leader in satellite navigation and GPS devices, have joined forces with us here at More Mountain Luxury Chalets to form an official Garmin Alpine Test Centre.
More Mountain are now part of The Garmin Snow Club, one of 10 handpicked chalets across the Alps. This means that guests staying at all of our luxury chalets get the opportunity to test-drive the new skiing GPS navigators completely free of charge…. The DakotaTM 20 and OregonTM 450 ski editions come with Mountain Dynamics SnowRanger ski resort maps for Europe or North America. Not only do they help you find your way around easily, they tell you how far, how fast and how high you go.
Garmin have also set up the Snow Club to offer the Garmin Alpine Challenge. This is designed to see who achieves the highest, fastest or furthest distance travelled in one day on the slopes. As a result, you can win a free holiday or Garmin GPS Device.
Fastest – The top prize of your stay for the following year plus Dakoto 20 with choice of mapping
Furthest – Garmin Foretrex 310XT and Dakota 20 with choice of mapping

After a day’s riding, our guests can use the free “in chalet” Apple iMacs to simply upload their GPS data onto the Garmin SnowClub web site using the Garmin Connect system. This allows the days activity to be viewed in detail or at a glance and shows the exact routes taken, highest speed, total descent, total ascent, maximum elevation, total distance and more displayed in easy-to-understand graphs.
In winter 2010, guests who uploaded their daily stats via the Garmin Connect System were automatically entered into the 2010 winter season league table and Garmin Snow Club Alpine Challenge. More Mountain managed to secure 2 of the 3 winners this year!
