Our Favourite Restaurants in Morzine

We are really lucky to have a great choice of places to eat here in Morzine. Along with the traditional Savoyard options, we also have some really exciting and interesting restaurants suitable for all occasions.

Here are a few of our favourites that are perfect for a break from cooking if you're on a self-catered holiday, or for your chalet hosts' nights off.

La Grange

La Grange is a traditional, alpine restaurant in the centre of Morzine. It can be found at the top of the Rue de Bourg near to Cafe Chaud.

The atmosphere is always warm and friendly, and the menu is full of home cooked Savoyard specialities. There's also great steak, fish and salad options if you're looking for a break from heavy cheesy dishes. It also has a good children's menu making it a firm favourite with all the family.

Alex & Fred provide our Gourmet Meals on Wheels service for our self catered apartments so you can enjoy their delicious food without leaving your accommodation, although we definitely recommend making the trip to the restaurant if you can!

La Dez'Alp

Located on Rue du Bourg next to Intersport, La Dez'Alp has a large menu making it a great choice for groups and families whether you want traditional Savoyarde favourites (think French onion soup, Raclette and Fondue), pizzas, salads or burgers.

The heated outdoor terrace is a great place to spend a winter evening or enjoy the great views over the valley from a cosy table inside.

La Chaudanne

This is a firm favourite for guests at Chalet Jirishanca, La Cornette and The Townhouse as it's on the Super Morzine side of town.

Famous for its glass floor and basement wine bar, La Chaudanne also has a lovely covered terrace and bright dining space with large floor to ceiling windows. More fine dining than Savoyard, it is a fantastic choice for a special night out. 

Le Clin d'Oeil

The Clin d'Oeil is another More Mountain favourite. It's located near to the Mairie, just opposite our La Poste Apartments and is a lovely place to go for a special evening out.

Choose one of the set menus or try one of their delicious southern duck or Savoyard specialities. They also have a great children's menu that offers a little bit more than the usual kid's fare. 

The staff are always extremely welcoming and friendly, happy to help with any menu questions or wine recommendations.

Colibri

The Colibri has a really cool bistro vibe, serving great burgers and salads. Just down from Pleney, Le Colibri is open everyday from 8am to 11pm, so whether you just want to stop in for an early coffee, a spot of lunch or a full meal, it is a great choice.

For a bit of luxury, treat yourself to their amazing brunch which is served everyday until 3pm. Delicious!

La Flamme

A great coffee stop on the morning en route to Super Morzine telecabine, La Flamme is also a great place for a relaxed lunch or dinner, offering a great range of local specialities and pizzas along with steaks and meaty favourites.

Ideally located for guests staying in Apartment Panoramique, Cerf Penthouse, Les Echoes, or Apartment Ressachaux, its super stylish dining area with glass floor is definitely worth checking out.

GUSTO-e-Basta

Gusto e Basta is a fabulous little Italian restaurant and takeaway at the bottom of the hill by the Mairie and close to Chez Hibou. The menu is simple but truly delicious, it is bound to be a hit with all the family.

They also have a great terrace so you can enjoy your pizza or pasta al fresco in the summer months.

The team here are all super friendly and speak great English.

O'Chalet

A firm favourite with our chalet hosts, O'Chalet is the place to go if you want a quick bite to eat. They do some of the best burgers in town and also offer a range of crêpes and paninis which are all available to takeaway too.

You can't book a table but expect quick service in this busy city centre venue. A great place to grab a bite to eat before moving on to one of the nearby bars! 

L'Improviste Morzine

The BEST pizza restaurant in Morzine! The menu offers all the classics along with seasonally inspired pizzas that are always delicious. Run by JP, a local Morzinois and his team, their pizzas are cooked in a traditional pizza oven with a lovely bubbly crust.

Next to the river, just up from the Mairie, L'Improviste is in a brilliant location for Ferme De Morzna, Morzna Etoile, Waterside and Apartment Central plus all the "Des Fes" properties.

This place is always packed so book ahead if you want a table, or get your takeaway order in in good time!  

The Bec Jaune

This microbrewery in the centre of town also serves delicious food using seasonal and local ingredients, making as much as possible from scratch in-house.

We love going in a group and sharing a few of their smaller plates along with a pint or two of the latest beer. The only problem is it gets packed so if you want to eat here then we highly recommend booking in advance.

La Ferme de la Fruitiere

If cheese is one of your favourite foods then you shouldn't miss a visit to La Ferme de la Fruitière. The restaurant boasts a great atmosphere with a huge central fireplace, making it super cosy in winter. It is one of the more pricey restaurants in Morzine but the fondue and raclette come highly recommended and the quality of meat cuts are excellent.

Hideout Restaurant

Just a few minutes walk from Chez Hibou, Hideout is one of the few restaurants in town that shy away from traditional Savoyard food, focusing on a mouth-watering Asian inspired menu instead. It's very popular so pre-booking is a must! 

La Rotonde

Sam & Jon's favourite, La Rotonde always delivers great food and fantastic ambience. If you're a fan of good steak, meat, cheese and pizzas you'll love it too!

Located just off the main square on the opposite side to the tourist office, it has a large covered heated terrace which is super cosy in winter and fabulous in summer.

It's also a good choice if you have kids as they offer an early sitting at 6.00pm with a great kids menu.

The Coup de Coeur

Tucked in the corner of the main square by the tourist office, you'll spot Coup de Coeur's sunny terrace by the bright orange parasols. 

A wine bar and restaurant with a small tapas menu and apero plates, it's a lovely place to spend a lazy sunny afternoon. 

La Chamade

Across the main from from Coup de Coeur you'll find its more upmarket restaurant La Chamade. The menu features French favourites using local and seasonal ingredients. They even grow their herbs on the roof of the restaurant! There's also has a great outdoor seating area with a big outdoor fire to warm up around in the winter.
