Setting the record straight….FINALLY!
Morzine and the Portes Du Soleil both have an enviable snow record. Their proximity to Mont Blanc and Lac Leman always creates a mini micro-climate which means that the area gets significant snowfall from the start of December through to when the lifts close in late April.

Because most of the lower slopes are soft grassy cow grazing pasture land, depths of 10-20cms are often all that is required to open the snowpistes, compared with higher altitude resorts where a metre or so is needed to cover thelarge gnarly rocks.
Those in the know have long since discovered that the Northern French Alps have some of the best and consistent snow conditions to be found anywhere across Europe. Over the last few seasons, the Portes du Soleil has had fantastic conditions while at the same time the higher and so called “snow sure” resorts in the south of France have been sorely lacking in snow.
The following article, which I read just this morning thoroughly sums up why some people often miss out on the great snow conditions of Morzine and Portes Du Soliel because they feel “it is too low…”

Bring it on….by the end of the day today we should see a White Pleney, a powder topped Nyon and probably a pow wow stash in Avoriaz. I cant wait to get the board out! We’ll post some piccies later today but click here on the webcam images for now.
Just a thought, if the snow keeps dumping at this rate you may be keen to know we are running pre-christmas specials again for this year. £449 for the week including Transfers, Half Board Accommodation with all food and wine etc. We can also do flexible nightly rates so give us a call on 0033 686021805.

Well, summer is definitely over and sat here looking out of the window of our Luxury Chalet The Loft, I cant help but visualise the Morzine Pleney Slopes covered in snow. It wouldn’t surprise me if we had a splattering within the next couple of weeks, especially up in Avoriaz. It is bitterly cold all of a sudden!
Everyone is talking about the snow forecast for this winter for skiing and snowboarding - the old locals in Morzine say it is going to be an EPIC season …so we have been told!
You can’t argue with the local Morzine Farmers…they say the spiders are coming indoors early this year which means a big winter is on route apparently! Bring it on…
Lets hope we get some more days like this!

More Mountain Girls Snowboarding Camp 2009 OUR CAMP - Now Fully BOOKED!
There are many opportunities to try specialist snowboarding camps in Morzine now - everyone is doing it, however, we reckon here at More Mountain we add that little bit extra to give you even better value for money. This year, our Girls Snowboarding camp in association with the UK Pro Riders from Our Camp is aimed at women over the age of 25 who are looking for a more “mature” approach to riding the Snow Park and Half Pipe.
Couple that with social riding with like minded ladies and a few powder days thrown in for good measure, weather permitting of course, and you have the perfect mix!
This year we have decided to use The Loft as it sleeps 8 very comfortably in 4 luxury ensuite rooms with full size baths, a massive Flatscreen TV, great for video analysis at the end of the day plus also has L’Occitane Effervescent Bath Bombs to soothe the aches and pains of the day after a hard day on the slopes!
This year for the price of £659 UK Pounds, you get Free Lift Pass, Free Airport Transfer and 6 Days Coaching from Pro Riders at Our Camp, plus all the usual More Mountain extras like fabulous food, quality wine and girly goody bags.

sNOwParking is designed by the snowboarding owners at More Mountain Luxury Chalets in Morzine to provide a “Guys” specific week of pipe, park and back country tuition, provided by the Qualified Snowboard instructors at Avoriaz Snowboard School.
It is amazing value, £689 includes 5 days qualified freestyle tuition, Portes Du Soleil Full area lift pass and Transfer to and from Morzine, all your food and beers, not to mention top quality luxury accommodation in The Loft which is our luxury boutique style 4 bedroom chalet in central Morzine.
The “sNOwParking” camp is aimed at blokes, over the age of 25 who have been riding for a while. It may be that you have hit a brick wall when it comes to getting confidence to hit the Park or HalfPipe. Possibly, you may not have a good understanding of how to approach a kicker and stomp the landing correctly, or perhaps pull a 180 for example. This is what sNoParking will show you, without feeling intimidated in the Park by the gromits pulling 540’s already!
Check out last years video for an idea of what to expect Click Here.
Once we have practised our freestyle, afternoons are spent social riding and depending on the weather, if it dumps, we also get to have a professionally guided back country powder day with avalanche and transceiver training. 15kms of uninterrupted off piste….Mmmm Yes! Follow that with a few Mutzigs….Happy Days!

Our good friend Col Mytton, UK Sponsored Rider and regular cover shot Pro on Whitelines and Document Snowboard magazine will hopefully be guesting with us for an afternoon.

Places are limited so get in quick…there are only 4 spots left.
Every year we are told we are too cheap! The number of guests who walk into our luxury chalets often say “you should be charging at least £150 more per person!” We prefer to keep our luxury chalet holidays affordable, yet surprisingly good value… Hence, we do get lots of people coming back.

Even so, we have been thinking about the cost of our holidays recently, and in order to keep our luxury chalets in Morzine competitively priced, we have decided to reduce some of our non peak February week prices. Therefore all weeks in February other than Half Term (which is full anyway!) have now been reduced by up to £50 per person per week in some cases. So…even More value !
Please see our prices page for more information showing our new weekly rates.
These prices still include all our added extras, like FREE Airport Transfers to and from Geneva. We still have the iPods, Free WiFi and Walkie Talkies. Our food is still fabulous, the wine continues to be hand picked and the service remains personal with all the little details and finishing touches added to make your stay with us a memorable one!
Make the most of these NEW weekly prices while you can as they will be snapped up soon!
Only 1 hour and 30 mins drive from Morzine to one of the most sophisticated festivals..Montreux Jazz Festival. Great day with sunny weather mixed with a few Thunderstorms right by shores of Lac Leman.
We camped overnight and enjoyed the many food stalls and beer stands, followed by three great gigs.

Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot!
Passportes has to be one of the most exciting “organised” MTB XC Rides in Europe with breathtaking scenery and ultimate trail variety, suitable for a beginner to expert. It was my first time doing it (Samee) and I can honestly say, it was one of the best days riding I have had so far on my mountainbike in the Portes Du Soleil. 75kms in one day….awesome. Never thought I could ride to Switzerland and back in a day!
We started off early and left the More Mountain Chalet Robin at 7.20am with 12 peeps in tow, a combination of guests and friends, and guests who are now friends!
There must have been about 60 people queuing to collect the “passportes ticket to ride” outside Morzine Tourist Office… Luckily for us Jon had prerbooked everything. Once we all had our bike numbers labelled up and adorned with yellow wrist bands, plus the free T-Shirt, we all rode to Super Morzine Telecabine and headed up.
Super M, down to the bottom of Chaux Fleurie and headed over to Switzerland via the Panoramic run through Satellite Trees. The Chaux Des Roses Chair was opened specially for the day to access a great rocky track leading down to Chatel with big drop offs all the way - we hit some snow at the top which was comedy! Yellow wrist bands came in handy for a well needed foodstop which is all provided free of charge for the day. Cheese, Ham, Raclette, Baguette, Saucisson, Sausages…stuff your face as much as you like and fill your rucksack with the free Muesili bars.
Finally looped to Morgins, followed by Champoussin and then on to Champery via Les Crozets, only to take the G5 back to Morzine from the top of Mossettes…bloody brilliant! Speedy, Hugh, Gav and Nic Nox have already reserved their place for next year, plus Tom and Ali from alpsaccommodation.com in Samoens. We always told them Morzine rocked…especially after a bit o’ Mutzig Mayhem at Robo’s. WHAT A DAY….
