The Portes du Soleil’s Mountain Bike Area is without doubt one of the largest in the world. With 650km of signposted trails between France and Switzerland, over 20 ski-lifts specially adapted for carrying bikes, dozens of permanent downhill tracks, X country trial circuits, north shore and bike parks. Downhillers, Freeriders, Dirt Jumpers, Endurance Racers, Cross-Country Purists and Recreational Family Riders all appreciate the experience and infrastructure which make this area a MTB Mecca.
On the last weekend of June the Portes du Soleil area celebrates the opening of all its Summer lifts with the PassPortes du Soleil MTB Tour.
The PassPortes du Soleil is a 75 km Mountain Bike trek ranging from 1000 to 2250m in altitude, in both France and Switzerland, where you can discover the fabulous Portes du Soleil MTB terrain and its breath taking scenery, making full use the area’s lift system.
The trek takes one day, and participants can choose whether to ride it on Saturday or Sunday. There are 8 refreshment points en route serving regional produce (local cheese, dried meat, Swiss chocolate, beer, etc…)
Technical assistance is provided in 2 permanent areas around the circuit and motorbikes travel around the circuit to assist en route. Entertainment is provided in each resort on the circuit and this year the official MTB show will be held in Chatel.
