3. Hiking to Switzerland & The Fantasticable Zip Wire
Ride the lifts with the Multi Pass
More Mountain are affiliated to the Multi Pass scheme which means you get the discounted rate of just €4 per day too (as opposed to €15 per day) to enjoy over 60 free and discounted activities all over the Portes Du Soleil.
One of the advantages of the Multi Pass is that it gives you access to the ski-lift system. The lifts allow you to cover lots of ground, enabling you and your family to discover the alps in an easy and fun way.
All you need to do is sit back and ride the lifts like a roller coaster while taking in the alpine views and marmot spotting. The lift system can take you all the way into Switzerland. Once effortlessly at the top, you can walk the ridges allowing you and your family to hike up high, stop off for a picnic or mountain refuge en route and take in the scenery with a glass of something cool and fresh. This is an easy activity with little kids as well as bigger ones, and great fun. Completely unique.
You can get started right from the centre of town by jumping on the Super Morzine or Pleney lifts. Alternatively get the free P bus up to Prodains Gondola, or take the free M bus past Lac de Montriond and up to the Ardent Gondola.
Fly on the Fantasticable
Tie this in with a trip on the Fantasticable which is located at the top of the Chaux Fleurie Chair accessible from the Lindarets bowl.
The Fantasticable is an adventure activity that involves flying through the air on a zipline or a cable. It is designed to give participants a thrilling and adrenaline-pumping experience. The concept typically involves a harness attached to a pulley that runs along a steel cable suspended between two points. Participants are securely strapped into the harness and then propelled along the cable at high speeds, providing a sensation of flying. See the video of the Fantasticable here.
The Fantasticable is usually set up in scenic locations such as mountains or forests, allowing participants to enjoy breathtaking views while experiencing the thrill of ziplining. It is often a popular attraction in adventure parks or tourist destinations, offering a unique and exciting way to explore the surroundings from an aerial perspective.
4. Rafting, Canyoning & Gorge Walking with Frogs Rafting
Rafting
We are big fans of Frogs Rafting, and we try to get at least one rafting session with them every summer. Rafting is suitable for kids above the age of 8 years old and routes take you down the local River Dranse or Giffre. With a maximum of 6 people in the boat, your guide will take you down rapids and through gorges, pointing out any wildlife on the way, and suggesting novel ways to go down the river.
Rafting trips are generally 2-2.5 hours in total and include all the equipment, a safety briefing and transportation to the take-off point.
Canyoning
It is also possible to go canyoning at the Nyon Waterfall in Morzine, France. Canyoning involves navigating through a canyon or gorge using a combination of techniques such as hiking, scrambling, climbing, swimming, and rappelling through the water.
At the Nyon Waterfall, you can expect to encounter cascades, natural pools, and rocky terrain, providing an adventurous and thrilling experience. However, it's important to note that canyoning can be physically demanding and may require specific skills and equipment.
To participate in canyoning at the Nyon Waterfall or any other location, it's recommended to join a guided tour or hire a professional canyoning guide who will ensure your safety and provide the necessary equipment. They can also provide information about the current conditions, difficulty level, and any requirements or restrictions related to the activity. Again we recommend Frogs Rafting for canyoning trips.
Gorge Walking
Frogs Rafting also run Gorge Walking trips in the upper Dranse river.
Think of this as an introduction to Canyoning - you still scramble through the gorge (and will definitely get wet) but it's slightly less extreme!
A great option for a family adventure, Gorge Walking is suitable for anyone age 8 and up.
How To Book
We highly recommend booking these activities in advance due to their popularity. You can book with Frogs Rafting by phone or email, and you can do this in English making it super easy.
Phone: +33 (0) 609 308 077 (if there is no answer straight away, they will be out on the river, but someone will get back to you as soon as possible)

5. Lac de Montriond for Paddle Boarding and The Goat Village
A trip to Morzine in the summer isn’t complete without a trip to Lac de Montriond. There is a whole host of activities you can do at the lake and is a great way to enjoy the open air and lots of space.
You can hire kayaks, stand up paddleboards (SUP's) at the lake, swim or simply chill out on the grassy banks. There's also a mini-golf course, which adds a new and fun way to enjoy the space.
There are a few restaurants and a snack bar by the lake where you can stop for lunch and enjoy the views of the clear water. We love the Verdoyant restaurant for views and the little snack bar "Lac'Tuel" for great salads and Croque Monsieur's finished off with a massive choice of ice creams! Great for the kids.
There is also Hotel du Lac for pizzas and cocktails with lovely views of the lake.
If you are driving up to the goat village, you will pass the lake on your right hand side, so you can easily stop off on the way there or on your way back to your accommodation.
However, you will notice that the goat village doesn’t exactly have a sweet smell. Therefore, you may not want to hang around too long for lunch.
So we recommend that you continue up to the Lindarets bowl. Here you will find lots of restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy great food while watching the mountain bikers.
If you've left your sandwiches at home, there's a great little open-air snack bar called La Quarante Sept (74).
One of our favourite restaurants is Mamo’s. Their service is excellent, and the team are always friendly. We especially like their burgers, homemade Croque monsieur and quiche of the day.
Alternatively, you can eat your own picnic by the gently flowing river (which is also great for paddling and cooling down on a hot day).
Lindarets also has a Salle Hors de Sac (Picnic Eating Room!) next to the top of the Ardent bubble, where you can eat your own food for free.
6. Introduction to Mountain Biking / E Bikes
Morzine offers world-class mountain biking for all levels, including beginners and families.
For families/beginners
Start with easy, flat riverside paths around Parc des Dérêches or the Chemin des Renard—ideal for kids and e-bikes.
In the mountains: Try beginner-friendly green trails like Soylent Green via the Super Morzine and Zore lifts. This area has the best selection of easy runs.
Lessons & hire: Coaching and guiding available with RideAbility or MorzineskiMTB.
Bike hire options include Torico (adults) and several shops for kids’ bikes.
Overall, it’s a great destination to learn, progress, and enjoy mountain biking in a stunning setting.
Lessons And Guides
If you want more of a coaching or guiding experience we recommend that you check out RideAbility or MorzineskiMTB. You will need to provide your own bikes or hire them however both RideAbility and MorzineskiMTB are able to help you with this.
For bike hire we recommend Torico for adult mountain bikes, while Intersport, Pleney Sports, Star Ski and Bike Academy also have a good selection of kids bikes.
With so many activities on offer you'll want to kickback and relax at the end of the day in the laid-back luxury of our self catered apartments, complete with sunny terraces, BBQs and hot tubs!
